      • Architecture students are NOT eligible for a co-op position due to the requirement that Architecture Studio be attended each Fall and Spring.

Architecture students seeking internship credit through NCARB toward licensure MUST read the following carefully:

Students intending to pursue a career in architecture must follow the requirements set forth by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). All of NCARB’s 54 U.S. jurisdictions require individuals to gain and document a certain amount of experience before becoming eligible to sit for the license and become a registered architect. This experience must be consistent with requirements and procedures of the Architecture Experience Program (AXP) program. Students pursuing a career in architecture are highly encouraged to visit the NCARB APX website. http://www.ncarb.org/Experience-Through-Internships.aspx

      • The best way to find a position is to log into Handshake and complete your profile. Once you have completed your profile, submit your resume, search for jobs and apply for those that interest you. Look at opportunities under “Jobs” and submit your resume if you meet the qualifications. You can also find an internship on your own without using Handshake, as long as you and the position meet the program requirements. See your Career & Internship Advisor for different avenues for finding positions.

All positions have to be approved through The Department of Career Planning & Development. NOTE: KSU does not give retroactive credit.

Review the Guiding Principles for Internship & Co-op Participation

IMPORTANT: Students participating in a co-op or internship without applying for academic credit must contact Mary Neely at (470) 578-6555 or by e-mail at Mneely7@kennesaw.edu

      • In order to receive academic credit, you must meet with your faculty advisor to determine if academic credit can be given and to identify any requirements set forth by the College of Architecture and Construction Management.

You have until the last day of Final Registration of each semester (in which you plan to intern) to apply for credit. Applicants must allow for up to 10 days of processing. Please do not wait until the last minute. It is highly recommended that you apply for the credit the semester previous to the one you plan to intern.
