Call for Programs
The Department of Career Planning and Development and the Office of Alumni & Constituent Engagement are thrilled to host the third annual Owl Professional Development Conference on January 25th, 2020, open to students and alumni. Last year, with the help of our employer and campus partners, we were able to serve 100+ students and alumni by assisting them in polishing their professionalism and preparing for the transition from college to career. This year, we are excited for the opportunity to serve even more attendees and continue to invite employers and campus partners to mold the minds of attendees through interactive presentations.
Our goal is to help students and alumni develop their professional skillset and know-how. We'd love to have your expertise showcased at our conference!
Our theme this year is “2020: Future In Focus”. Presenters will have one hour to present and answer any audience questions. We encourage presenters to keep their presentation to about 45 minutes and allow for 15 minutes of questions or discussion. Presentation proposals should highlight the theme and be focused on one (or more) of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Which include:
- Critical Thinking/Problem Solving
- Oral/Written Communications
- Digital Technology
- Professionalism/Work Ethic
- Career Management
- Global/Intercultural Fluency
